Frequently Asked Questions

Is your produce chemical free?

We are spray-free and use no synthetic fertilizers or synthetic pesticides in our garden.

We use composted manure from our alpacas and chickens, lots of mulch, and we pick off squash bugs by hand (lots of work!).

Where can I buy your things?

  • At The Knoll self-serve farm stand (24 hrs/day, Monday - Saturday. Closed Sundays.) The Knoll is at Holston Heritage Farm, 7792 Hwy 93, Dalton, AR. SEASONAL: opens March 25, 2023.

  • Through GrownBy.

  • Deliveries can be made to Mildred's Spice Corner in Pocahontas, AR.

  • We list some non-perishables online.

How do I reserve a pig?

Our semi-pastured pigs are available for custom processing. How this works:

  • You pay us a deposit and we reserve a specific pig for you.

  • We let you know when the pig is processing size and help you figure out the cuts.

  • You pay us for the final pig weight.

  • We take the pig to the processor of your choice (Kemps is our preference. Ozark Meats can be an option.)

  • The processor calls you when it's ready and you pay them for the processing.

How do I reserve a turkey?

We raise a very limited number of free-range broad-breasted turkeys each year. Deposits are accepted in early September. We'll check in with you each month. The final payment is due on processing day, which is generally one week before Thanksgiving.

Can I come see the farm?

Yes, but we are not always home, or sometimes we have urgent tasks to do that aren't very accommodating of visitors. Please reach out at least a week in advance if you want to visit.

If you're an RVer, Harvest Hosts members are welcome to visit. Please make a reservation through the Harvest Host app.

Can I buy an alpaca from you?

Because they are rescues, we do not sell or breed our alpacas. You're welcome to make an appointment to visit and see them though!
